There are people suffering all around you. Don’t let yourself be fooled to only help when major disasters hit places like Haiti, or New Orleans.
A man was walking on the beach. As he was walking he noticed all the starfish washed up on the shore, hundreds and hundreds. As he continued his walking, he noticed a woman repeatedly picking up any starfish, and throwing it back into the ocean.
When he arrived at her, he asked her “Why do you waste your time throwing these starfish back into the ocean? There is no way you can throw them all back. So what does it matter?”
She bent down, picked up a starfish at her feet, looked him in the eye and said “It matters to this one” and then threw it back.
My fellow human, throw a starfish back into the ocean today, even though there are thousands suffering all around you. You only need to help one.
