The Emotion of Being Wronged

Conflict. What is the emotion, the true nature of the emotion of feeling wronged by someone? When someone whom you’ve let into your home, given fresh clothes, cooked a healthy meal, turns around and attacks you for not having given more, what is that emotion? It’s a “Seriously, how could you?” It’s an incredulous feeling. But most curiously, the emotion of experiencing such lack of consideration, such blatant selfish crookery, awakens a sincere obsession with the issue, with the cause of the emotion. Why? Why does experiencing this emotion require such deep introspection? Why does it carry with it so many fleeting layers?
